Bone: The removal of wisdom teeth requires a force applied to the tooth as well as removal of bone for many impacted teeth. The hard bump may be bone that expanded from the force applied during the extraction, or it could also be an irregularity in the contour of the bone when bone was removed to allow access to the wisdom tooth.

It is common,: bone spur. However, going back to your dentist or oral surgeon to have a post-op examination is warranted. Best of luck.
