Normal healing: The irregularities will gradually over the next month fill in with the new tissue. In the mean time, the area should be kept clean especially after meals with salt water rinses or a soft toothbrush. Take care.

Possible: See your Surgeon about this. Bony infection (dry socket) usually rears its ugly head about day 3 or 4. However, you might have a low grade infection or simply regular healing. Also, there may be debris in some of the extraction sites which causes loss of the clot and delayed and painful healing. Too much rinsing will lead to same thing. Get it checked out. Good Luck.

Reevaluation: You had surgery, but by 5th day symptoms should be easing off. The person that knows you best is the General Dentist or a Specialist Oral Surgeon who did your extractions. Post-surgical Care is part of the overall procedure that you have already paid for. Return to your practitioner for follow-up care.
