Is it bad to smoke with a contused lung?

Yes.: Smoking tobacco is damaging to the tissues of the lung even when the lungs are not 'contused'. When the lungs sustain an injury such as a contusion or an infection, smoking may make the healing process slow and less effective. Smoking cessation is perhaps the best thing that a smoker can do to improve his/her personal health.
