Induration: Redness doesn't count; it has to be induration (hardness). If you gently run a ballpoint pen along your skin toward the site of the test and it comes to a stop, you may have reached the edge of the induration. You can then determine the diameter of the induration by doing the same thing from the other directions. If it's red but there's no induration, it's a negative test.
