Oral Surgeon: And please don't wait. "growths" don't get better by themselves.

Call your dentist: Your dentist can determine whether the tissues are normal, traumatic, infectious, or cancerous. In some cases, s/he may biopsy the site, or if desired, refer you to a qualified oral surgeon. Your dentist will know the specialists in your area--as well as their strengths/weaknesses and refer you to the most qualified provider. Don't trust a google ad or yellow pages with your health!
