Decay or bacteria: Without seeing the black line, it is possible that you could be seeing decay or bacteria at the gumline. If the tooth has a crown on it, it is possible that you are seeing the metal edge of the crown. Have a dentist check your concern to rule out decay. The wisdom teeth are the hardest to keep clean and are often found to have decay.
