Black goo: Typically, this is normal but if it is thick, it is referred to as a liver clot. It is abnormal clot formation.

Blood clot: Granulation tissue is supplied with blood and appears pinkish. Blood clot is not supplied with blood except for the blood that forms the clot in the first place.
