Hyponatremia: 61 yo in ICU with pretty low sodium of 116. What did the doctor tell you, the reason was? In hospital I am sure they must have worked out extensively. Please talk to your doctor. Secondly you didn't give medical problems or medications you are taking. The treatment depends on the cause and disease and your doctor is the only one who knows well about you. Thanks.

Treat problem: It's important to identify the problem causing your sodium to stay low. Unless it's determined and fixed, you may keep slipping back into a low sodium state.
