Ocular migraine: Your symptoms are consistent with ocular migraine. If they were followed by a headache then the diagnosis would be migraine headache with ocular symptoms, classic migraine. There is another variant called common migraine. When the headache is absent, it is called ocular migraine. It is due to electrical activity in the occipital cortex of the brain (rear part). I'm glad they went away.
