Wait 2 wks.: Oral tissue changes are not uncommon during pregnancy. Thus the small red area on your tongue could well be taste buds and/or a stress reaction. But you are wise to investigate new/unusual spots! as a general rule, if/when you notice new spots in your mouth, wait two weeks and if it is still there, go see your dentist. Congrats on pregnancy!

Red areas: Without examination cannot diagnose. The rule of thumb, however, is any red or white areas, especially of more than 2 weeks duration, require investigation. You don't want anything going on that could be of harm to either you or your baby. Please see a Dentist now. And hope you have a healthy and happy baby.
