Herpes: First of all, you present no evidence that this is herpes simplex. Not even a description of the rash. There's no way to tell you what you have on your leg without seeing it. The dermatologist's basic and best talent is to use his or her eyeballs to make a diagnosis. And while herpes on the leg would be rare, it would require medicine specific for herpes simplex.
