Are there any ground breaking diagnostic tests that can detect ovarian cancer early enough to treat sucessfully?

Unfortunately, no: There is a weak link with the brca gene, but no definitive screening test. We have used the ca-125 marker, but it is not recommended by the uspftf as a screening tool for asymptomatic women. We are still stuck with pelvic exams after complaints of fullness and discomfort. This is one diagnosis among a handful - including prostate cancer - that we don't have great answers for yet. Stay tuned!

Not yet.: Researchers are trying to find/develop a screening test for ovarian cancer that can catch it early. But, nothing is available yet.
