Need to see MD ASAP: You would need to see you doctor asap. There are many causes of rectal bleeding that is associated with pain- including- anal fissures, hemorrhoidal bleeding etc- however any rectal bleeding has to be evaluated further to rule out serious problem i.E colorectal cancer. If you never have a colonoscopy- you will need to have a colonoscopy now. See your doctor asap. If bleeding is a lot- go to er now.

Hmm: You don't specify where the pain is. That being an unknown, all bleeding from the rectum needs a complete and proper evaluation and should never be ignored. Now is the time to see your doctor or colon and rectal surgeon for a thorough work-up and evaluation.
