Theoretically : It could although cholesterol stones are possible with normal levels of blood cholesterol. Keep the Lipitor (atorvastatin) going and exercise. Gall stones are the least of problems you can run in with unchecked / high blood cholesterol levels!

No, even though: It would make sense, that if you have high blood cholesterol, it should contribute to cholesterol stone formation. Cholesterol stone formation seems to be dependent on relative bile concentrations of cholesterol, bile acids, and lecithin. These substances affect solubility of cholesterol in the bile.
