A member asked:

For months carrageenan caused me intestinal pains/constipation. now i still occasionally feel pains, having light/yellowish stools. permanent damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carrageenans: There's some evidence that they can cause some intestinal inflammation but nothing to suggest permanent. If you con't to have symptoms, get a checkup as there may be some other stuff (like an infection) causing the problem. Also, make sure that all dairy productions are stopped to ensure you're not having a mild lactose intolerance based on your history.
