A member asked:

Mri says "very large herniation at c7....neurosurgical correlation is strongly advised." surgeon says i can wait. how to decide on surgery or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms: Often disk herniations resolve on their own. Follow your surgeon's advice with physical therapy, noninvasive treatments, and any other advice they provided. Progressive weakness of the affected extremity is a classic indication for surgery. But, i tell my family members to avoid back and neck surgeries as long as they can! good luck!
