Yikes!: You have a very high risk situation with a growth restricted fetus and abnormal blood flow to the placenta. You need very close followup. Ask your doctor about steroids for fetal lung maturity and early delivery. Without knowing more, it is impossible to tell when you should be delivered. You will be lucky to make it to 34 weeks.

Growth/Nutrition/mgt: Many infants born between 28 and 30 weeks gestational age can do well with NICU management . Most will have respiratory problems and some infants may develop cardiac disease. If the baby is small for his or her gestational age, breast milk and neonatal nutritional supplements are used to promote growth. As the lung grows new units are added, lung health usually improves.
