A member asked:

Could you know your infant or toddler's cholesterol count, blood sugar count, blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure, but why?: Your doctor could order a blood test for any of these, however, do you have any reason to want to know these. Lab tests should only be done to support a suspected diagnosis. Unnecessary lab tests not only add to the cost but can also lead you on wild goose chase. Please note that about 5% of the tests will be out of the normal range in even healthy people.
