Hematuria: You should be evaluated by a urologist. Blood in the urine is never normal.

See your doctor: Gross painful hematuria requires a urological evaluation. You need proper imaging as well as cystoscopy to evaluate for problems of your kidneys ureters or bladder which may range from infections to stones to various tumors. See your doctor soon.
