5 HTP: 5htp has been used safely for at least 12 months at substantial dose (16mg/kg/day). http://tinyurl.com/k6d62fq since it's been back on the market, no cases of eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome have occurred in the usa, but a few have happened in france. Finest nutrition is made by walgreen's, and i haven't seen any warnings or recalls about the brand. Dose = 100-200mg at bedtime, for sleep.

Safe: But probably of no value. Most of the body's seretonin is in the gut and what you swallow does not cross over into the brain. You don't say why you are taking it but it is useless for any brain reason.

Many well-done controlled studies prove 5-HTP as effective a anti-depressants for mild-to-moderate depression and studies also show it to be effective in treating insomnia and improves sleep architecture. No problem: I see no problem. Just make sure it does not interact with anything else you may be taking. That can be checked at www.Drugs.Com.

Yes: 5-htp is an Amino Acid that is effective for insomnia, depression and anxiety. It is generally well-tolerated and much safer than any of the drugs used to treat these conditions.

5HTP: 5 htp is a dietary supplement , but i would not recommend it because we don't know its long term effects.
