Hips pain on both sides for two weeks during sleep (i am side sleeper). sometimes the pain reflects to legs and buttocks. today getting my period also feeling pain during the day, weak legs/painful hips (both). what could be and what to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pain on the side of the hips when you sleep is typical of hip bursitis. The pain can reflect to the leg and buttocks as well. Hip bursitis comes from weak and tight thigh and buttock muscles and therefore long term you need physical therapy to decrease the inflammation and give you exercises for flexibility and strengthening. In short term see you doctor for medication to decrease the pain.
