Opiates, probably: You should ask your surgeons about pain medicines they'll be recommending, but i've seen people receive opiates for a brief time after surgery. Combining these with Cymbalta (duloxetine) can be safe, if prescribed and monitored by a physician who follows your responses carefully.

No way to know: Every surgeon has their favorite pain meds they like to give based on what they feel their safety profile is and their personal experience with each med. The only way to know is to ask your surgeon. Good luck with your surgery and hope you have a quick recovery and minimal pain.

Appropriate meds.: Cymbalta (duloxetine) should not have any appreciable effect on pain med selection. Good luck with your surgery!

Surgery: Postop medications are entirely up to the surgeon. They will review the postop instructions with u in details. Hope your surgery goes well.

No limitation: As long as your liver is not impaired, you should be able to tolerate non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication or vicodin for more serious pain, but make sure you discuss your medications with your doctor and ensure your pharmacy has a list of all of your mediations.
