Hydrocle: Hydrocle is collection of fluid in the scrotal sac. It may appear by itself or can accompany a hernia or testicular torsion. Long standing hydrocles can cause pressure on the testes and cause atrophy. Sometime the fluid resorbs but most times surgery may be indicated.

Hydrocele: The testis migrates from its point of formation near the kidneys in fetal life.It moves though the belly, pulling a baloon pouch of the abdominal wall as it crosses the groin to the scrotum. The pouch is supposed to shrink tightly to the artery & vein of the testis, but may remain loose. If it is open and loose or reopens later, a hydrocoel forms. It is not a disease but an error in testis migration.
