See below: Tamsulosin is fda-approved for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). By relaxing the muscle fibers within the prostate gland. It is used off-label for prostatitis-related symptoms and in helping patients pass a kidney stone. It only comes as an extended release formulation taken once daily (0.4 mg).
