A member asked:

Is sugar intake a major contributor to diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: This is simply not true. Autoimmunity in kids, genetics in adults, mostly. Having diabetes is difficult enough without misguided friends saying, "aren't you sorry you ate all that sugar when you were young?" diabetics do well to limit their use of rapidly-absorbed carbs like sweets.
