Evaluation necessary: Could be a stress fracture, posterior tibial tendon injury, or plantar fasciitis. Suggest a thorough evaluation that may include x-rays and an mri. Regardless of the cause, if your gait is altered as a result, hip pain can occur.

Give it time: If you finished the race just recently, you might just have some irritation of your plantar fascia. If you can walk and this was recent, just ice it, stretch gently, and give it a little time (and i see you are taking advil, (ibuprofen) which is reasonable). I wouldn't jump to an xray or an MRI just yet! if your symptoms are all in your foot, and you don't have neurological symptoms, ok to wait.
