Backup plan: First of all congratulations ! as any Insulin dependent diabetic in travel, you will need to have ample supply of Insulin (long and short acting) as well as enough testing supply and a non expired glucagon kit for emergency situation. Your significant other must have basic knowledge on how to administer Insulin and glucagon. Your best option in case of an emergency is the local er. Good luck !
