Probably OK but...: Naegleria fowleri, the "brain-eating ameoba" is fortunately quite rare- there are about 4-5 cases a year. No.: Please don't fear something like this. The case reports of this condition are very, very rare and related to entirely different circumstances--repeated nasal irrigations with a neti pot that wasn't sterilized or lake water.

Naegleria fowleri: Between 1962 & 2016 there has only been one case-report of Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri in the state of Indiana. Considering that this was from the municiple water system - his risk is extraordinarily low.
