Treating Infection: Absolutely not. Antibiotics are not 'better' or 'worse' than other antibiotics. They are more or less effective. Your physician changed your antibiotic because they probably have a culture report that tells them that the first antibiotic, which is very common, would not work against the bug causing your infection.
