Not impossible: It is not impossible for repair to result in no leak but does not always happen. None or minor leakage is an acceptable result for this procedure and would be considered successful.

All depends: Minimal leakage after mitral valve surgery is common. However if leakage is significant and associated with cardiac symptoms, should be addressed.
