Mild leak after mitral valve repair normal? why is this..wasnt surgery suppose to eliminate all leakage..dr says everyone has it

results: Results after surgery or other medical treatments is usually symptom control, safety, lower risk, durability and unfortunately not perfection, cure, or 100%. However, okay to take friend or family with you to post operative appointment and ask your surgeon questions about these results. Be well.

Not unusual: The valve and annulus are adjusted- repaired and may have a small low, volume leak seen on echo, but of no hemodynamic consequence. Regular followup and perhaps some medication will be used.
