Elavil (amitriptyline): At low dose, and for some patients with migraines who can tolerate it, it is quite effective.

Old drug but not bad: Elavil (amitriptyline) is still a good med but can constipate, dry you out, and is very toxic in an overdose. Usually 10 to 50 milligrams are used and may not cause problems at these lower doses. Can be great for sleep. Watch weight gain.
