Small risk: Taking the Elavil (amitriptyline) and melatonin leads to a small but measurable chance for what is called the Serotonin Syndrome. If not that then, there is the chance that those 2 together can make you sleepier or drowsy. I've never had a patient suffer from that while on that combo but to be on the extra safe side I believe it's good to heed the warnings. Elavil (amitriptyline) and threonine/serine are safe.
