A member asked:

Is an aortic root diameter of 3.9cm considered unusual or abnormal for a 6'3", 220lb, 42 year old male?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Borderline: The size of your aortic root is related to your body size. According to my nomogram, the "z score" of your aortic root, if measured at the sinuses of valsalva, is 2.0. That means the diameter is 2 standard deviations above the mean for your body size. In other words, right at the edge of normal. See a cardiologist who is an expert in aortic disease and have him/her examine you.
