Discuss with doctor: You are male and 41. You had a chest xray. The xray notes atheromatous aorta. Discuss these findings with your doctor who ordered the xray. The chest xray is well suited to study the lungs but not the best study for the aorta. Talk to your doctor about your blood pressure. Review the xray with him/her. New blood pressure guidelines have been released.

Need better testing: Chest X-ray is a poor test to check Atheromatous Aorta. You need to see a medical Doctor(Internist) and get checked for Atherosclerosis which is not common under 50 years of age unless you have serious risk factors like: Smoking, High BP, High Cholesterol or Diabetes. There are simple blood tests to check for these conditions. Send us the results of your Blood sugar, Cholesterol (HDL and LDL) BP.
