Surgery: An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a condition which needs to be followed. If the aneurysm enlarges, therapy, either surgery or an endograft is required. A ruptured anurysm is rarely a survivable event, since it usually occurs out of hospital. If the patient survives to get to the hospital, repair is possible.
