Not a great choice: Fanapt (iloperidone) is a drug for schizophrenia, and would not be my choice for treatment of insomnia.

Although many Dr's: prescribe atypical antipsychotics for sleep & it would likely be effective - I would not go with this class of medications as my first options. Fanapt is for the treatment of Schizophrenia so it is a "big gun" to use for sleep.
