Severe Insomnia: Start by ruling out any med conditions w/ your doc. Then consult with a sleep expert to identify the sleep disorder. If its due to poor sleep habits, anxiety, etc. consider getting treatment. You'll likely benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) specifically for insomnia. It's usually short term work.
