Carpal tunnel: It does help to wear a wrist brace for as many hours of the day as you can for a period of 2 weeks. If it does not help see your doctor to do a nerve conduction study to see if a shot or surgery is needed.

If you can not: Modify your job the best step would be to use wrist splint to alleviate the pressure on the nerves . I would encourage to be evaluated by physician and make sure that nothing else is going on

See sports med doc: Have the diagnosis confirmed by a sports medicine physician. There is no harm in starting resting night splints while waiting for an appointment. If it is cts, it is advisable to address the ergonomics or your workstation and any muscle imbalances you may have to prevent it from coming back (by working with a physical therapist).
