Compazine (prochlorperazine) does...: Ondansetron (zofran), a powerful anti-nausea drug, is a serotonin 5-ht3 receptor antagonist. It blocks these "receptors" linked to the crtz..The "vomiting center" located in our brains. Compared to compazine, (prochlorperazine) a piperazine phenothiazine linked to other brain receptors (d2), it causes very little sedation. Both are used to decrease nausea and vomiting after surgery.
