A member asked:

Can a 1 year old take melatonin to help with jet lag?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The CNS of an infant is substantially different than that of an adult. The limbic system and reticular activating system are incompletely formed. To introduce a CNS depressant would potentially have fatal consequences.
