Typically yes: The answer would depend on the type and severity of the fracture. After most ankle fractures heal, a complete recovery can usually be expected.

Very carefully: Usually when one fractures an ankle there is also damage to the soft tissues that make up the ankle joint. The ankle structures will be weak for quite awhile following such an injury. After good physical therapy and if you have no complications you can try it with caution, but you might want to start with a slight chunky type heel first and see how you do.

Talk with surgeon: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person. He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.
