A member asked:

What is articular sided tear, surgery needed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Meniscus tear : If you are referring to your knee mri, then this means that the meniscus is torn adjacent to the articular cartilage. If it is of significant size, say a centimeter or more, and continues to cause pain with twisting, squatting, walking, stair climbing, or sleeping, then arthroscopic surgery is indicated. Hope this helps and you were talking about your knee. If not, specify location better.
