Maybe a sprain: I would have the ankle evaluated by the doctor that saw you when you had the fracture. It could be as simple as a sprain, or it could be post-traumatic osteoarthritis, among other things.

Rheumatologist : I would recommend that you can see your family doctor first or directly make a call to a rheumatologist for an appointment. Good luck to you. You have some sort of inflammatory arthritic condition going on in the foot. It needs to be properly evaluated.

RICE: Sometimes you may have pain in a joint after an injury. The injury can cause the joint to become arthritic. Pain and swelling is common in this condition. Have it evaluated to make sure. An x ray is a great place to start. Rice treatment: rest, ice, compression, elevation.
