About Compassion: While some ppl who commit suicide may have suffered from psychotic symptoms (hallucinations, delusions &/o other forms of distorted perceptions/thoughts) most have not. They're just' human beings who come 2feel a terrible sense of hopelessness, despair &/or shame...Who come 2 believe there's no way out. Ur doc was evidently suffering. But s/he may have helped many despite own personal struggles.

Word of mouth: Call the local medical society, make sure they are board certified and with several years of experience.U might also check with people in a long standing support group for whatever is your particular " interest".

Psychiatrist: If a cardiologist dies of heart attack, it does not mean that there was something wrong with him or specialty . Doctors are human beings and go through same human emotions and experiences like any other human being. We don't know the complex nature and situation of your psychiatrist was in. Please don't be so harsh. Have faith in professionalism and contact with other psychiatrist for your self.

See below: I'm sorry about your situation.Doctors are humans, too and susceptible to the life challenges and emotions as any humans are. The death of a psychiatrist was a loss and needs to be addressed with your next provider. I would also recommend addressing the loss in individual psychotherapy. Losses needs to be worked through so we'd be able to move on.
