Ibuprofen or Tylenol (acetaminophen): Or aleve (naproxen) can all help with fever. Take as per bottle instruction. If other symptoms develop or fever doesn't improve seek medical attention.

Fever: Over the counter tylenol (acetaminophen) is the best if you do not have any liver disease. Should take it three to 4 times a day 650 mg. If fever from bacterial infections you might need medical care and might need antibiotics.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) +/- see DR.: A normal, healthy, happy toddler who gets a fever of 102 (but no other symptoms) most likely has caught a virus, or a bacterial ear or throat infection. A first step is to give tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin, which will lower the fever for a few hours. Then, one decides when to see a doctor (today, tomorrow, or later) depending on how ill the toddler appears. Sick-looking children should a doctor very soon.

How common is fever as a symptom for diverticulitis?

2 doctor answers11 doctors weighed in
Dr. Keegan Duchicela
Family Medicine 14 years experience
Common.: A low grade temperature (high 99s to 100s) is common with diverticulitis. Usually people have left lower abdominal pain (70% of people). It is sometimes accompanied by nausea and vomiting (20-60%), constipation (50%), or diarrhea (25-35%). However, if you have no fever, but have all the other symptoms, see your doctor, because you can still have diverticulitis without a temperature! cheers!

Will insect repellant keep me from ricks that can give me rocky mountain fever?

Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Yes: Insect repellents containing deet (such as off!) do repel ticks. How well a repellent works depends on the amount of deet on the person's clothing or skin, and on how complete the coverage is (whether or not the person missed some spots). Too much deet can be toxic to babies and small children. Clothing that has Permethrin impregnated into the fabric may also help prevent tick bites.

See doctor: You have not given enough information for recommendations. If your mother's fever persists more than 2 days she should see her doctor.
