TMJ: This may be tmj. This is the temporal mandibular joint. It can hurt because of tooth grinding and sometimes even stress can bring in on. Your jaw joint may be tender when you touch it. Your dentist can help you with a bite plate. I would recommend you avoid surgery if at all possible. Surgery is rarely indicated.

See a Dentist: These types of symptoms can be due to several different problems. The most common ones include a sick (decayed or cracked) tooth, a bite problem, a jaw joint problem, or a problem with the muscles used in chewing. In either case, you cannot diagnose of treat any of these conditions yourself. So, see a dentist and find out what's going on. Then , get it fixed, and live your life without pain.
