Sounds like: Sounds like you may have a torn meniscus (torn "cartilage"). Short of surgery, you can use analgesics like Ibuprofen or naproxen. Get a brace for your knees. Ice pack when acutely painful. Good luck.

Knee pain: The combination of pain, clicking, swelling, and impaired mobility of the knees may be caused by arthritis. Soft tissue problems like meniscus (cartilage) deterioration is also possible. See your physician for an exam and appropriate treatment with medication or perhaps injections.
