No: Bloodwork can be normal even in the setting of cancer. When patients have a personal history of cancer, we will often follow cancer markers in the bloodwork as an indirect measure of response to treatment.

No: In fact not usually. Psa so far has most data for screening for & evaluating prostate cancer. Other tumor markers are less reliable but can supplement other studies. We need to be cautious considering either screening for or following cancer solely based on blood tests.
