No relation: Eye pain upon waking has no relationship with the presence or absence of cancer. The most common etiology is a form of dry eyes called meibomitis. Eye trauma can also do the same. You should see an eye md for an evaluation.

No: See an eye specialist if it persists.
Dr. Pierre Guibor

You may have dry eyes and need to try artificial tears and a complete eye exam by an ophthalmologist

It is not a specific: It s not a specific sign of cancer. However, the presence of it does not rule out anything. Better see your dr and find the cause (most likely, not cancer). Best wishes.
